01-10-1989 ERMU MIN COMMISSION MEETING January 10, 1989 Tuesday 7: 30 P.M. Present Were: James Tralle Vice Chairman George Zabee Trustee Bill Birrenkott General Manager Jim Simpson Others Present: Glenn Sundeen - Line Superintendent Pat Klaers - City Administrator Michael F. Stemper Douglas Dill 1) The meeting was called to order at 7 :30 P.M. by Vice Chairman Tralle. 2) Motion by Mr . Zabee seconded by Mr . Simpson that Mr . Tralle be designated as the President for the year 1989. Motion carried. 3) Motion by Mr, Tralle seconded by Mr. Simpson that Mr . Zabee be designated as Vice Chairman for the year 1989. Motion carried. 4) The restructuring of electric rates was opened for discussion. It was the concensus of the Commission that until we have more definitive costs from Anoka Electric Cooperative regarding territory acquisitions that we should take no action. The General Manager was instructed to present more options to the Commission at the next meeting. 5) The Commission was informed of the status of negotiations with the attorneys regarding the case of possible energy theft . 6) The General Manager informed the Commission that Mikro-Tel has changed their name to Versa-Link and has changed their method of operation. They will be returning to us later with more definitive proposals . 7) The General Manager reported that the auditors will be here in early February and hope to be signed off on the financials by the February commission meeting. 8) The next meetingwas set for TuesdayFebruary21, 1989 at 7 : 00 P.M. at the Utilities Office. 9) The Line Superintendent reported on the construction and operations activity and the status of projects. 10) Motion by Mr . Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson to authorize the General Manager to attend the Institute of Electrical Engineers symposium on "Transmission and Distribution in the Electric Utility Industry" in early April of 1989.
