05-09-1989 ERMU MIN COMMISSION MEETING May 9, 1989 Tuesday 7 :00 P.M. Present Were: James Tralle President George Zabee Vice Chairman Jim Simpson Trustee Bill Birrenkott General Manager Others Present: Glenn Sundeen Line Superintendent 1) The meeting was called to order at 7 : 00 P.M. by President Tralle. 2) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed. Motion carried. 3) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr. Zabee to make the following adjustments in the employment agreement effective June 1, 1989: 1. Wages for all outside workers to be changed to the following schedule: Power Plant Foreman $ 14. 94 Plant Operator/Groundman 14.02 Water Serviceman/Groundman 13.66 Water Foreman/Meterman 15.79 Lead Lineman 17 . 69 Lineman 17 .09 2. Increase the Utility contribution for medical insurance to 94% of the company premium. 3 . Increase the payoff for unused sick pay to a maximum of 40% of 100 days . 4 . The Utilities will accrue vacation monthly at the present schedule. Motion carried. 4) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson to authorize the removal of the two oldest fuel tanks to be in compliance with the new EPA regulations. Motion carried. 5) A potential problem with water services on Lookout Place was discussed. The General Manager was asked to do more research and report at the next meeting as to possible solutions. 6 ) The General Manager reported on the status of negotiations with Anoka Electric Cooperative to acquire additional service territory. 7) The April financial statements were reviewed and discussed . 8) The Line Superintendent reviewed the status of all construction projects with the Commissioners . COMMISSION MEETING - Continued May 9, 1989 9 ) It has been requested that the Utilities install lighting to highlight the Logo on the new water tower. The staff will do some investigation and report to the Commissioners at the next meeting. 10) The problem of multiple moves and associated increased office and field time created by the large number of apartments was discussed. Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to institute a $10 .00 connection fee effective for all "new customers" or "customer change of addresses" after June 15, 1989. Motion carried. 11) The next meeting was set for Thursday, June 8 , 1989 at 7 : 00 P.M. 12) Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9: 45 P.M.
