August 8, 1989

1) The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 P.M. by President Tralle.
2) Various proposals and solutions to the Lookout Place water
distribution were discussed with the owners present. Motion by
Mr . Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson, to recommend to the City
Council that a 2" water main be installed in the area where the
sidewalk presently is . Motion carried .
3) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the
minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed.
Motion carried with Mr. Zabee abstaining.
4) Staff reported that work is proceeding on the James Addition in
Otsego. This is a development of Jim Peterson of Elk River .
5) The General Manager reported that we have been contacted by
residents of the River Bend trailer park in Otsego to serve
electricity to the park. They have been instructed by our staff
to contact the Public Service Commission.
6) The General Manager reported that Elk River Municipal Utilities
and Anoka Electric Cooperative have agreed on a line for
territorial boundary. The next step will be to begin
negotiations on the actual cost of the various parcels and the
timing as to when the actual territories would be acquired . The
utilities will proceed with the process of helping Anoka Electric
acquire a franchise in the territory in their assigned area.
7) The General Manager reported that the storage building at the
plant will cost much more than the commission approved because of
site relocation and building requirements imposed by the planning
commission. It was the consensus of the Utilities Commission to
recommend to the City that the issue be tabled until more study
is done with other alternatives to be considered .
8) The General Manager reviewed the July financial statements and
budget reports with the Commission.
9) The Line Superintendent updated the Commission on the status of
major construction projects .

10 ) The next meeting was set for Tuesday, September 12th at 7: 00 P.M.
to be held at the Power Plant.
11) Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Zabee to adjourn. Motion
carried . Meeting adjourned at 9 : 00 P.M.
