09-12-1989 ERMU MIN COMMISSION MEETING
September 12 , 1989
Tuesday 7:00 P.M.
Present Were: James Tralle President
George Zabee Vice Chairman
Jim Simpson Trustee
Bill Birrenkott General Manager
Others Present : Glenn Sundeen
1) The meeting was called to order at 7 : 00 P.M. by President Tralle.
2) Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to approve the
minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed.
Motion carried.
3) The General Manager reported that Elk River Municipal Utilities
will not be the power supplier for the James Addition in Otsego.
This addition will be served by Wright-Hennepin Electric
Cooperative as agreed to by a territory map signed by Bill
Patenaude prior to 1980 .
4) A proposal was presented regarding the implementation of a hand
held meter reading system. Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by
Mr . Zabee to authorize $14,000 on the implementation of a hand
held meter reading system. Motion carried.
5) The staff reported that the implementation of a new water line to
serve the needs at Lookout Place was preceding.
6) The August Financial statements were reviewed with the
Commissioners .
7) The Line Superintendent reviewed the status of construction
projects and operating situations .
8) The General Manager reviewed with the Commissioners the status of
negotiations with Anoka Electric Cooperative.
9) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr . Simpson to authorize the
General Manager to attend the American Public Power Association
Seminar on "Negotiating Power Supply Contracts" in November.
Motion carried.
10) The next meeting was set for Tuesday, October 3 at 7 : 00 P.M.
11) The November meeting was set for Tuesday, November 14
at 7 : 00 P.M.
12) Staff conducted a tour of facilities and equipment with the
Commissioners .
13) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Tralle to adjourn. Motion
carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
