11-14-1989 ERMU MIN COMMISSION MEETING November 14, 1989 Tuesday 7: 00 P.M. Present Were: James Tralle President George Zabee Vice Chairman Jim Simpson Trustee Bill Birrenkott General Manager Others Present: Glenn Sundeen Pat Dietrich Vivian Schmidt Roger Heuer (NSP) Keith Shodeen 1) The meeting was called to order at 7 : 00 P.M. by President Tralle. 2) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed . The motion carried. 3) Roger Heuer from NSP was presented to respond to questions regarding the Utilities disposal of transformers and environmental pratices. He stated that the Utilities is in complete compliance in all practices regarding testing, storing, and disposal of all equipment according to EPA regulations. 4) Customer Keith Shodeen formally requested of the utilities compensation for damages done when his electricity was shut off for non-payment last summer. After a lengthy discussion, the Commission decided to take no action. 5) The General Manager reported on investigation of Home Security systems to offer as a service to our customers . The Commissioners directed the General Manager to proceed and report on a business plan at a future meeting. 6) The financial reports and budgets were reviewed with the Commissioners . 7) Line Superintendent, Glenn Sundeen reported on the status of construction projects and operating conditions . 8) The Compensation Committee was directed to give a report at the next meeting. 9) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to begin January 1, P 1990 to donate all electricity not associated with enterprise funds to the City of Elk River . This would include: the garage on UPA Drive, a pole building on UPA Drive, the new City garage, City Hall , and the Fire Station. Motion carried . 10) The next meeting was set for 7 : 00 P.M. December 7, 1989 at the Utilities office. 11) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10 : 30 P.M. Bill Birrenkott General Manager
