Direct,by motion, a formal stop of all work on the Line Avenue cul-de-sac project.
Background/Discussion
Upon learning of the MnDOT provided funding for the Hwy. 169 Redefine project, there are
reservations with moving ahead on the Line Avenue cul-de-sac project at this time.
In speaking with the county engineer and project representatives from MnDOT, there remains a lot of
uncertainty about how our local street network should best connect and function with their highway
improvements. In an effort to be sure we get it right, staff recommends putting this project on hold and
to revisit it a year from now. This will give MnDOT and their design team a chance to finalize the
preliminary design so we can learn how our local system best connects to the new 169 layout.
Should the Council approve the action,we will send an official notice to the property owners along the
project whom we have already been talking with about property acquisition needs. We the have
appraisals complete for the needed right-of-way but no formal offers have been made.
