6.1c ERMUSR 08-14-2018 Elk River Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: August 14, 2018 6.1c SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: • Had ten new house services. • Continue working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. • Finished changing out some of our old overhead transformers in the city of Dayton. • Rebuilt the three phase underground to Elk River RV on Edison Street and installed new single phase primary for the RV and boat storage building across the street. • Continue to install the infrastructure in Areas 5&6 heading north of the Waco substation. This project was started in 2017 and is being done in preparation of the two areas to be acquired this September. As Connexus is keeping their feeder in these areas, this additional work is required. • Changed out a pole that had tested bad and replaced some single phase underground primary on 199th Avenue. • Michels Pipeline completed the joint trench at Trace Heights Second Addition, and we completed our portion of the boring and plowing. These were bigger lots without sewer and water so it was more economical for us to do part of it; there are a total of 18 lots in this addition. • Finished making up the infrastructure in the Tall Pines Addition; this addition has 27 lots in it. • Finished rebuilding part of 192 '/z Avenue in Area 3 that we acquired from Connexus last year. • Installed a new single phase underground service for the tennis courts at the Elk River High School. • Changed out a live front switchgear that was beginning to rust with a dead front switchgear by Home Depot. • Replaced a street light that was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Main Street and Hwy 169. • On July 12, ERMU provided mutual aid to Princeton Public Utilities after severe weather caused significate outages. Zac Johnson, Derek Groebner, Mitch Girtz and Jared Rolstad were sent to help restore power. A thank you letter from Princeton Public Utilities is attached.
