~r.Geo E,~izer Justice of the Peace being about to'
change his residence formally tende~eed his resignation
and delivered his books to the Council.
His resignation was accepted,It being necessary to have
two J.Ps.
the name of Richard R.Latta was proposed as a SUb5titu~
to serve until the next Village J2.1ection in Dev."
on motion duly made and declared aarried Mr.~atta was
appointed Justice of the Peace.
An invitation was recd.from the League Of ~innesota
fuuninipalities to attend a Convention to be held on
1~rch 13-14th.at St.Paul kinnesota.lt was thought for
interest of the Village it would be advantageous to the
Village to be represented at this conventioh.on motion
D.E.Davis Eres. and Joseph Flaherty were instruct~d to
attend.
Charles M.Nelson Village karshal asked that a gate be
installed at the entrance to the Jail in the ally to
prevent Prisoners from escaping while he is opening .-the
door.on motion he was instructed to procure and install
the same and also he was given author~ty to procure the
necessar.\ repairs for the pump at the .Qwer HOlAse

ndrew Madaon presented a bill for repairing water pipe
a~rossthe street.this bill had been presented several
tlmes and bee~ re jected. the sub ject was laid over- until
out next meetlne_for further investigating.
The question of ~lectric rower & light Contract was
~roug~t before the7Council by L.G.Nelson Manager of the
lk Rlver ~ower & .uight Co.by presenting a Contract for
its consid~ration.~uite a lengtht discussion was had
but no deflmate action taken
The Clerk was instructed,to correspond with the Pittsb~
.Pi ttsburgh Meter Co: in regard to a .llu.eter purchased of them by Chi€
Meter Co. Ayer.aa~lng them to take back the meter as we have no
corr€spondanc~onnectlon for meters of that size l~in.

On motion of Geo.Cornelius !rustee,W,H.Clements
was appointed street Commissioner to act under the
direction of the Council.
Some discussion was had relative to the cleaning of
Allys in the business district of rubbish and dis-
posing of same.On motion the Clerk was directed to
consult with the Village attorney in regard to having
an Ordinance drawn up to be presented at the next
meeting of the Co~~llfor their approval
