SUBJECT: Accept Resignation of Paid On-Call Firefighter
On behalf of the Elk River Fire Department, I would like to inform the Mayor and City Council of
the resignation of Firefighter Tim Richie. Tim joined the Fire Department on March 1, 2004 and
due to personal reasons he submitted his resignation effective April 28, 2005.
As the Mayor and City Council are aware, recruittnent and retention of paid on-call firefighters has
become increasingly more difficult each and every year. Our department recently completed the
process of adding an additional three firefighters and we will be looking to possibly fill this opening
with a candidate from that recruitment process.
