SUBJECT: Donation to Elk River Police Department
The Elk River Police Department recently received a donation in the amount of $2,000.00 from the
Eddy Family Foundation that was used for the purchase of tactical gear in the form of a ballistic
shield (with lighting system) for use by the S.W.A.T. team and other officers during "high risk"
entries.
Attached is a resolution acknowledging the Eddy Family Foundation contribution to the Elk River
Police Department.
Action Requested
It is requested that Mayor and Council adopt the attached resolution acknowledging the monetary
contribution from the Eddy Family Foundation pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 465.03.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all C1V1C groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $Z,OOO donation from the Eddy Family
Foundation with the intent it be used for public safety purposes, other than normal
operations; and
WHEREAS, the Elk River Police Department purchased tactical gear in the form of a
ballistic shield for use by the S.W.AT. team and other officers during "high risk" entries; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River
to acknowledge the support and commend the Eddy Family Foundation for their donation.
