Accept,by motion, the quote received for work on the 6 1/ Street and Quinn Avenue improvements by
Schmidt Curb Co.,in the amount of$43,624.40 for the concrete construction.
Background/Discussion
In 2017, a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district was approved for the area between Quinn Ave. and
Proctor Ave. just south of the railroad tracks. As part of this TIF district, additional public improvements
were approved as part of the redevelopment. 6 '/z Street is to be constructed with a connection to Proctor
Ave. (opposite the Beaudry Gas Station and office) and connect to Quinn Ave. Quinn Ave. will be
reconstructed in this area at and north of the 6 '/z Street intersection.
The concrete construction quote package was sent out to four contractors and two were returned. Staff
is recommending authorization of the low quote received the concrete work. The concrete quote package
includes construction of all of the concrete improvements associated with the project. Work items
associated included in these quotes are scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
