The Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce requested the city proclaim September 26, 2018, as Elk River
Area Chamber of Commerce Day in recognition of the Chamber's 50,'Anniversary.
Chamber Executive Director Debbi Rydberg will be present to receive the proclamation.

Proclamation
Designating September 26, 2018, as
Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce Day
WHEREAS, The Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce has contributed to the civic and
economic life of our city for 50 years since its incorporation in September, 1968 and is recognized as
the voice of business in the Elk River area•, and
WHEREAS, strong local business is integral to the growth and a key driver of our local economic
prosperity; and
WHEREAS, the Chamber and its members provide residents with a strong business environment
that increases employment,retail trade, and industrial growth in order to make Elk River a better
place to live; and
WHEREAS, the Chamber has provided valuable leadership through business advocacy and civic
partnerships that strengthen our local community and business environment; and
WHEREAS, members of the Chamber receive vital information and support from staff and
business volunteers that are committed to providing programs that address community needs,
concerns and opportunities in an ever-changing business environment; and
WHEREAS, the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce energizes the PACE of business and
tirelessly promotes and supports Elk River; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I,John J. Dietz,Mayor of Elk River, do
hereby proclaim September 26, 2018, as Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce Day in recognition
and honor of their 50th Anniversary.
