6.1c ERMUSR 10-09-2018 Elk River Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: October 9, 2018 6.1 c SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: • Had 13 new house services. • Continue working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. • We started putting the infrastructure in Area 7 for the territory we'll be acquiring in 2019. • Acquired Areas 5&6 from Connexus on September 18. There is still a lot of work to do to get this project finished up. We are now in the process of changing out locks,removing tags from poles, and adding new signage to underground equipment. Throughout this process,we'll be verifying what's in the map book to make sure it's correct. • In Areas 5&6 we have to transfer customers from the old overhead primary infrastructure that we acquired from Connexus to the new underground infrastructure that we installed. • Michels Pipeline completed the joint trenching in Miske Meadows 5th Addition. There are a total of 58 lots in the addition. We are in the process of getting the infrastructure terminated in Miske Meadows 4th and 5th additions. • Continue to remove poles that are located in the rear lot line in Otsego. • Working on the installation of a three phase underground service for Jackson Hills Apartments; this is a 40 unit apartment located at Jackson Avenue and 6th Street. • Changed out 11 street light fixtures to LED in the Meadowvale Heights Addition. • Installed some single phase primary underground wire on 5th Street to allow for the removal of a rusty single phase junction box. • Changed out a three phase pole on Parish Avenue in Otsego that was stuck by lighting. • Hooked up the permanent service for the new tennis courts at the high school. • Scott Thoreson, Matt Schwartz and Jake Koehler attended Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association(MMUA) overhead school September 11-14 in Marshall, MN. During the overhead school, MMUA held their second annual Minnesota Lineworkers Rodeo and Matt and Jake participated. Scott helped out as a judge for the rodeo and as an instructor for the overhead school. Page 1 of 1 67
