Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the conditional hiring of Ryan Sandhoefner as Engineering Technician II effective
December 19, 2018.
Background/Discussion
Following the resignation of Engineering Technician II, Dan Belair, we went to market to fill this
position.
We received 12 applications and interviewed 6 candidates. Following reference and background checks,
we would like to hire Ryan Sandhoefner based on the condition that he completes his schooling and
receives his bachelor’s degree this December.
Mr. Sandhoefner is completing his final semester at North Dakota State University. Once graduated, he
will have his Civil Engineering degree and be eligible to become an Engineer In Training (EIT). Mr.
Sandhoefner has worked the past three summers as an Intern at the Anoka County Highway Department
where he has gained excellent experience working with their Engineering Technicians.
Mr. Sandhoefner will begin at step A of pay grade 2N. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city
policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
