Background/Discussion
At 7:27 p.m., on September 17, 2018, Elk River Police were dispatched to a report of a female in cardiac
arrest. Upon arrival, officers located Edward Greenwaldt administering CPR to the patient, his wife, Judy
Greenwaldt.
Officers took over CPR and placed pads for the Automated Electronic Defibrillator. Officer Heldt and
Officer Martin and first responders were able to continue CPR until she regained a steady pulse and was
transported to a medical facility.
Due to the quick response and initial CPR/rescue breathing efforts from those on scene Judy Greenwaldt
survived. Therefore Officer Heldt, Officer Martin, Don Schulte, Terry Elliott and Owen Decathelineau
