Background/Discussion
The first Elk River Fest was held Saturday, July 7, 2018, from 4 – 9 p.m. and offered a variety of activities
for families including touch-a-truck, carnival games, crafts, a slow bike race challenge, arts and crafts
vendors, non-profit vendors, food trucks, bingo, a beer garden, a demo area, and a concert. The event
was capped off with a fireworks display held on the Elk River High School campus.
Various city departments came together to make the event happen including recreation, police, fire,
utilities, parks and street maintenance and planning. In addition, a large number of community
organizations also participated.
The First National Bank of Elk sponsored the event.
City staff has reviewed their efforts from 2018, and have developed an outline, including sponsorship
levels, for 2019 that will be presented to City Council.
