05-13-1963 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING May 13, 1963 A special meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on May 13, 1963. Members present Johnson, Larson, Meyer, and Briggs. Norris was absent. Mr. Fay Frawley representing the Bartenders Union was present. New contract with the Union was considered. The council agreed to a raise for bartenders to $2.33 per hour for the first year. $2.33 per hour for the second year and $2.43 per hour for the third year. For waitresses the rate is to be $1.29 per hour for the first year and $1.32 per hour for the second year and $1.35 for the third year. In the case of split shifts the Junior man is to be taken and paid 10% additional. Contracts will be prepared and mailed to the village. Meeting adjourned. H.A. Briggs Village Clerk RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION DATED SEPTEMBER 18, 1961. REGARDING WORKING CONDITIONS, WAGES, AND HOURS FOR BARTENDERS AND WAITRESSES IN THE MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORE FOR THE VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER WHEREAS, the Council of the Village of Elk River has met with repre- sentatives of the empl07ees of the Municipal Liquor Store of the Village of Elk River, for the purpose of discu8sing improvements in the wages and working conditions of said employees, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED ~ the Village of Elk River, that the resolution dated September 18, 1961, establishing working conditiona, wagea and hours for bartenders and waitresses inthe Municipal Liquor Store for the Village of Elk River, is hereby amended as follows: ARTICLE vn SICK LEAVE Amended to now provide for twelve (12) working days of sick leave each year. Further amended to provide that if within any current year, an employee has exhausted his sick leave benefit for that current year, he shall be entitled to use unused sick leave benefits from the preceding year, if any shall remain. Otherwise there shall be no accumulation of sick leave from year to year. ARTICLE IX OVER TIME HOURS Amendment of the last paragraph thereof relating to split shifts to provide as follows: During the slack time of the year, the most junior employee can work the split shift. but said employee will be entitled to a premium of ten percent (10%) over the established rates during such split shift period of work. AR TICLE XIV WAGE SCALE Amended to provide for the following increases over the previous estab- lished rates, effective in accord with the following Bchedule: Classification Effective February 1,1963 3-1/2 cents 5- 3/4 cents Effective January 1,1964 3 cents 5 cents Effective January 1, 1965 3 cents 5 cents Waitresses Bartenders AR TICLE xvn HEALTH AND WELFARE PROCEDURES Amended to provide that the Village agreelil to put into effect a health '-f i and welfare policy shortly which &I a minimum shall at least provide the bene-. fita to employees equivalent to benefits provided in the Miscellaneous Liquor 3.2 Beer and Restaurant Employers-Employees Trust Fund. Except for the above amendments, all other provisions of the Resolution of September 18, 1961, shall continue in full force and effect. d. ADOPTED by the Village Council this /3 _ day of ~ 1963. ~.
