VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
February 1, 1965
The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Feb 1, 1965. All
members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The minutes of the last
meeting were read and approved.
A motion was made by Norris and seconded by Bartelt to call for a hearing regarding sewer
thth
extension on Upland Ave between 4 and 5 Sts. Motion carried. See application.
A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Norris to put Woodrow Wilson on the black list on
liquor and beer places in town. Motion carried. This was for the reason that Wilson has been
receiving aid from the Village but has been spending money for liquor.
At this meeting there was a hearing regarding a petition from L.G. Lamm asking for a change in the
zoning ordinance on property adjacent to Highway 169 and west of Main Street. The change was to
be from Residential to Commercial. Among those present were Frank Nickerson, Jene Kreuser,
L.G. Lamm, Walter Johnson, Donald Johnson, Archie Larson, Mrs. Doris Dumke, Richard Gongall.
After considerable discussion a motion was made by Bartelt and second by Norris to table matter of
rezoning for further study and further information. Carried.
A building permit was issued to Gene Kreuser and to Kenneth Magnuson.
There was a discussion regarding a building code for the village and the clerk was asked to write the
league for a sample code.
