11-01-1965 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING November 1, 1965 The regular meeting of the Elk River Council was called to order by Mayor Johnson on Nov 1, 1965. All members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Rodney Anderson was present. He asked that some repairs be made on the curb at his property. George Moos and Ernest Nelson attended the meeting. They complained about the police service and asked for a raise in salary. Nothing was done at this meeting. Building permits were issued: George Dietz – residence, Henry Vordenbruggen – garage. Levy for coming year: General Fund – 30 mills Utility Fund – 5 mills Poor Fund – 4 mills Library Fund – 5 mills Music Fund - .6 mills Firemens Pension - .1 mills PERA 2 ½% extra charge $254.60 Maximum on sewer bonds Motion for levy was made by Norris and seconded by Hudson and carried. All voting in favor. A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Briggs to have three judges on the election board th at the village election Dec 6. Carried. The clerk was asked to place an ad in the local paper and in the Construction Bulletin asking for application for police officer.
