DISCUSSION:
We received our insurance renewal binder on October 16, 2018 and met with our brokers
from Northern Capital Insurance Group. As mentioned previously, we had a slight
increase in our renewal of 2.5%, approximately $4,500. We were commended on our
Worker's Compensation experience modification of .75, which provides a 25% reduction
in premium.
The front counter has been fortified with a bullet absorbing rubber material that was
placed between the cabinets and the curved wood facing. The ADA counter area will be
fortified with a bulletproof kick -plate from the counter to the floor, to be installed at the
same time as the glass above the counters. Measurements for the bullet proof glass above
the counters were done October 24, 2018 and ordered for installment in 2-4 weeks.
We had an accumulated credit PCA amount of $466,000 through October 2018, and
remaining CIP funds of approximately $100,000 for a combined total of approximately
$566,000 available to issue to customers. In October's billing we issued PCA credits of 4
mils totaling $102,118. We will continue to issue credits and will be issuing 6 mils in
November, with the remaining balance to be issued in December.
We will have our annual insurance open enrollment meetings this Wednesday, November
14, 2018. To accommodate everyone we hold two meetings, one in the morning and one
in the afternoon. This is where employees have the opportunity to change coverage for
their insurances, sign up for annual Flexible Spending Account participation, as well as
learn about new resources available to help them in their wellness efforts.
