DISCUSSION:
0 Delivered 14 new water meters.
• Sealed the water meter, and took curb stop ties from 13 water services.
• Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
• All confinned negative for Coliform Bacteria.
• Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH
• Completed 23 routine fluoride samples
• All samples met MDH standards.
• Submitted MDH Fluoride Report
• The water department completed the annual inspection of the Lake Orono Dam on
October 3. The water department worked with the street department to complete the
inspection along with pumping out the roller bucket to inspect that area. The dam seems
to be in satisfactory condition.
• The water department, with assistance from the directional drilling crew, installed 217' of
new 3" water main along Nile Place. The old water main from 1947 had serious
tuberculation issues which caused poor water quality for the two customers at the end of
the line.
• The water department has continued to locate and validate existing areas of the
distribution system, along with locating new developments for addition to the map.
• We completed the final inspection of Miske Meadows 4th and 5th additions. These
additions will soon be ready for building to commence.
• As Minnesota American Water Works Association (MNAWWA) Section Chair, I have
been planning our December board meeting which is also our annual council and
committee chairs training event. I also attended the NW District Water Operators School
in Detroit Lakes to present the opening remarks.
• As Suburban Utilities Superintendent Association (SUSA) President we held our one -day
SUSA School at the Maple Grove Public Works building. We had 105 attendees. We
covered various drinking water and wastewater topics.
