04-21-1969 VCM t) D '!he regular semi-monthly meetingof the Elk River Village Council was called ,to oi-der" bY Mayor Bartelt on-April 21, ~969, all members present. The minutes of the April 7, 1969 and April 14, 1969 meetings were read. No additions or cOZTections. A motion was made. by Syring and seconded by McRae, to accept the preliminery engineering report dated April 14, 1969 and the Plans and Specifications dated April 17, 1969, for sanitary sewer am watermain extensions in Johnsons Addition. Motion carried unaminously. A Copy of the resolution is attached. Robert Johnson from Johnsons Investment Co., was present and asked .bout a road in to Johnsons Addition. The Council will keep in mind when a decision is made on our 1969 street program. Mr. Johnson presented the revised pre- liminery plat for Johnsons Addition, labeled Johnson Plat, dated April 21, . 1969 and prepared by Leroy H. Winner, Surveyor, Anoka, Minn. Harry Dreissig requested additional smoke protection equipment for the fire department. A motion was made by McRae and seconded by Hudson, authorizing expenditures up 't9 $1,100.00 for additional equipment for the fire department. Motion carried. Gerald Wegoner was present and made application for transfer of his on and off sale 3.2 beer license. A motion was made by Syring and seconded by McRae, to grant the transfer of Gerald Wegoner 3.2 beer licenses from 619 Highway 10 to 651 Main Street. Motion carried. A motion was made by Syring and seconded by Hudson, authorizing the Village Clerk to advertise for bids in the official village paper and the Construction Bulletin on April 24, 1969 and May 1, 1969, for sanitary aeter and watermain extensions in North Terrace Addition and Johnsons Addition, with bids to be taken at 8:00 pm, Monday, May 5, 1969, in the Council Room of the Municipal Building in the Village of Elk River. Motion carried. un aminously . A copy of the resolution is attached. Hudson reported that the plastic panels on the liquor store building can be repaired and that a major repair job is not necessary. Syring presented a sketch and basic plan on the proposed dog kennel. He will get a labor cost and report at our next meeting. A letter was read concerning the old fair building on Angel Street, being a safety hazard. 'l'he clerk was instructed to send a letter to Neil. Larson, ad- vising him that the building must be memoved and the well filled by June 1, 1969. .,~ Syring reported on suggestions made by the Chamber. Cleanup Bobs Landscaping and the apartment house, a no burning ordnance for downtown business establish- ments, replace'the waste receptacles) lease the Jarmoluk property for parking for the cost of the taxes and purchase the Nickerson Building for a community parking lot.'- Reported that Leon Vassar and Gene Zappa want the logs that RCPA has cut for their power line through the dump property. ,.
