Adopt,by motion, a resolution designating polling locations for 2019.
Background/Discussion
State law requires cities to designate polling places by December 31 of each year. This designation is
required whether there is an election scheduled.
The school district has requested we not use their facilities due to safety concerns. We currently use
Meadowvale School for precinct 213. We are proposing to change this location to the Public Works
Maintenance Facility.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Designating Polling
Places for 2019
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 204B.16 requires cities to designate polling
locations for the upcoming year; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Elk
River,Minnesota, hereby designates the following locations for elections conducted in the
city in 2019:
City Hall Elk River Activity Center
13065 Orono Parkway 413 Proctor Avenue
United Methodist Church Lions Park Center
1304 Main Street 1104 Lions Park Drive
River of Life Church Church of St. Andrews
21695 Elk Lake Road 5664 1h Street
Public Works Facility Emmanuel Christian Center
19000 Proctor Road 18912 Twin Lakes Road
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city clerk is hereby authorized to designate a
replacement polling location mid-year for any polling location designated in this Resolution
that may become unavailable for use per the requirements of Minnesota Election Law;
Passed and adopted this 181h day of December 2018.
