Village of Elk River, Minn., was called te oriel" by Mayor Bartelt on April 20,
1970, in the Council Room of the }'!unieipal Building at 7 :30 pm, members were

William Mills was present and discussion !ellowed on, wate:rmain and unitary
sewer extensions to the Industrial Park. ~lls reported that the present S"
watermain ana sanitary sewer capacities spould be uequate at this time, pro-
viiing a wet in<<ustry is kept out. The present aisposal plant was eiesigned so
that it can be clouble. in capacity.. Mills suggestei that we connect the
Industrial Park in to eur existi~ systems anlIl. when necessary, plan an aiiition
to our present system, but that we shoul. make application for a feteral grant
at this time for new plant constructiiln Illi new feeier lines. Mills will attend
the next meeting of the Associate. Investers for more informatimn before makiI1l

Milt Salk was present in regaris to the civil iefense warning system anli recom-
mende. the placement.of two ad.tiitional sirens. Prices for sirens vary from
$4(X).OO to $2600.00 ani there is no fecieral money available. Salk, Les Derr
anti Micheau will work as a committee of three to look in to the type of siren,
locations ant cost figures anti. report back to the council with there recommentiations.
.John MacGibbon reported that the d.eed is completed for the Millhouse property
but to hol. off paying for the property as there is a lien a~ainst it.
Syring presented the .appraisal report on the Wheeler Spain property on Lake Orono,
appraise. value was $5,000.00.
Moved. by Councilman Huison anti seconieet by Councilman Syring to purchase a 4-way
:oil: flashi~ red stop. light for installation at the intersection of Jackson
Avenue anet Main Street, subject to the approval of the County Highway Engineer,
total cost to be approximately $140.00. Motion unaminously carried.
