A special meeting of the Elk River Village Council of the Village of Elk
River was called to 'order by Mayor Bartelt oil Nov. 23,1970 in the council
room of the village office building at 7:00 p.m. Members present were as
follows: Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Hudson, Syring and Konop.
The Council conducted interviews with Chief of Police Applicants: Mr.
Robert Olson, Mr. James Dixon, Mr. Richard Anderson and Mr. Ronald DeRosier.

The Ham Lake Airport site was discussed by the council members. It was
moved by Councilman Syring and second.ed. by Councilman Konop that the Village
of Elk River be place on the list of those municipalities in favor of a
northern site for the loC?ation of a major airport. The motion was unan-
imously curi...
No further business, the meeting was adjourned.
