Provide direction regarding organics recycling program.
Background/Discussion
Great River Energy's Trash-to-Energy facility will stop accepting waste from haulers on January 15, 2019.
Currently the city offers Blue Bag Organics recycling that is hand-sorted at GRE's facility. Staff has
looked into various options for organics collection moving forward and would like direction from
Council. Curbside options are very costly and drop-off locations may be a better option. Currently 272
households participate in the program.
