Proclaim April 6, 2019, as Firefighter Keith Thorson Day.
Background/Discussion
Firefighter Keith Thorson was hired as an on call firefighter on April 6, 1995.
Firefighter Thorson was also a career firefighter with the City of Minneapolis and brought knowledge,
skills, and experience to the City of Elk River Fire Department.
The Fire Department appreciates Firefighter Thorson’s 23-plus years of service to the community and
supports his due recognition.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Keith Thorson has retired from the Fire Department after 23 years of service;
and
WHEREAS, Keith has earned the respect and friendship of his peers, co-workers, and the
Elk River community; and
WHEREAS, For his dedicated service, the City Council extends their sincere appreciation to
Keith and wish him a long, happy, and healthy retirement!
THEREFORE, I, John J. Dietz, Mayor of the City of Elk River, do hereby proclaim Saturday,
