1. Approve, by motion, the continuation of the members of the Joint Finance Committee.
2. Consider and new committees and committee assignments of commissioners.
Background/Discussion
HRA Bylaws suggest they consider appointments to all existing committees as necessary. The
appointment and/or removal of committee members are at the discretion of the HRA.
In addition, it is suggested the Authority consider the creation of any new committees during their annual
meeting, assign the appropriate number of commissioners and determine the assignments.
Currently, the HRA hosts one special committee, the Joint Finance Committee. The Committee provides
the HRA with a technical and politically neutral analysis of applications including microloan, tax
abatement, and tax increment financing applications. They meet on the last Tuesday of the month.
The Joint Finance Committee consists of nine (9) members: two (2) EDA members, two (2) HRA
members, and at large members representing various constituencies, including banking, real estate, law,
and the general community. Current members are:
