DISCUSSION:
• In the last month, the level two charger downtown had 4 sessions, and provided
customers with 37 kWh of green energy.The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot
had 9 sessions and provided customers with 135 kWh of green energy. The DC fast
charger at the Coborn's fuel station had 14 sessions and provided 55 kWh of green
energy to customers.
• Reached out to many of our key accounts to discuss the rate decrease for 2019. They
were supportive of the Utilities Commission and the results of the strategic decisions
made to provide the rate decrease.
• Staff is working with GRE to finalize the purchase of substation metering and other
equipment that will complete the transition to MMPA.
• Provided assistance to the Elk River EDA staff in development of the new Energy
Incentive Program they have been working on.
• Have been working with city staff and the Energy City Commission to complete the
Hometown Solar grant application.The grant that is offered to MMPA communities
provides for the installation of a solar array with a capacity of approximately 5 kW. This
grant pays for the material and labor to install the array.The City of Elk River would be
responsible for the maintenance, insurance, and decommissioning costs at the end of
life.The solar array will provide a great tour site and will be used as an educational tool
for students in the community.
