■ Johnson St NW from 181"Ave NW to 179"'Ave NW
■ 179"'Ave NW from Johnson St NW to Fillmore St NW
Background/Discussion
Due to city growth over the past few years,we are allowed to add new street segments to our designated
Municipal State Aid (MSA) system. Staff analyzed our roadway network and is recommending the
proposed routes as the most appropriate to maximize the MSA funding we generate on an annual basis.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Establishing
Municipal State Aid Highways
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Elk River that the streets
hereinafter described should be designated Municipal State Aid Streets under the provisions
of Minnesota Law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River,Minnesota, as follows: the streets described as follows, to-wit:
■ 1781h Ave NW from Twin Lakes Rd NW to Tyler Dr NW
■ Tyler Dr NW from 1781h Ave NW to 181"Ave NW
■ Johnson St NW from 181"Ave NW to 1791h Ave NW
■ 1791h Ave NW from Johnson St NW to Fillmore St NW
be, and hereby are established,located, and designated Municipal State Aid Streets of said
City subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of
Minnesota.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Transportation for
his consideration, and upon his approval of the designation of said streets or portions
thereof, that same be constructed,improved and maintained as Municipal State Aid Streets
of the City of Elk River, to be numbered and known as Municipal State Aid Streets.
Passed and adopted this 19 day of February 2019.
