SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION
HELD AT LIONS PARK CENTER
TUESDAY, JULY 8, 2003

1. Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission
was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Pederson.

Request by Lynn Lofgren for Conditional Use Permit to Operate Montessori School. Public
Hearing - Case No. CO 03-16
Staff report presented by Chris Leeseberg.
Chair Pederson opened the public hearing. There being no comments, Chair Pederson
closed the public hearing.
This item was extended another 60 days as the action date of July 18, 2003 was prior to the
July 21, 2003 City Council meeting.
COMMISSIONER JENSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE
REQUEST BY LYNN LOFGREN FORA CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO
OEPRATE A MONTESSORI SCHOOL, CASE NO. CU 03-16, WITH THE
FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1. IF MORE THAN A TOTAL OF 4 EMPLOYEES ARE TO BE ON
SITE, THE APPLICANT SHALL APPLY FOR AN AMENDMENT TO
THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT.
2. IF MORE THAN A TOTAL OF 30 STUDENTS ARE TO BE
ENROLLED, THE APPLICANT SHALL APPLY FORAN
AMENDMENT TO THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT.
3. MAINTAIN STATE LICENSE.
COMMISSIONER OFFERMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED 6-0.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned to a workshop session. The
meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
