6.1c ERMUSR 03-12-2019 Elk River Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: March 12, 2019 6.1c SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: • We had 11 new house services. • Continued collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. • Continued tree trimming. • Continued rebuilding the three phase overhead line on Jarvis Street between 165th Avenue and Highway 10. • Finished testing the overhead and underground protective grounds, the fiberglass hot sticks, and cleaning the truck booms for their inspection. These are all done annually. • A Sherburne County snow plow truck struck a single phase transformer on County Road 33, west of County Road 1. • We had two street lights that were struck by vehicles, one at 195th Lane and Proctor Road, and one at 192nd Lane and Ivanhoe Drive. • We had a single phase transformer and a secondary pedestal get damaged when a private contractor operating a payloader was removing snow on 172nd Lane in the Woods of Elk River Station addition. • We assisted in fixing the windmill generator on 225th Avenue for ENEL after a jumper wire broke on the overhead power line.They will be charged for time and materials. • Zac Johnson and Jake Koehler attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) Meter School held February 12-15 in Marshall, MN. • Zac Johnson, Matt Schwartz, and Jake Koehler will be competing as a journeymen team at the American Public Power Agency (APPA) Lineworkers Rodeo being held March 29- 30 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They also attended a rodeo clinic that MMUA puts on in Marshall, MN on February 27-28. I will be a judge at the Lineworkers Rodeo and will also be attending the Engineering and Operations Technical Conference immediately following the rodeo, March 31-April 3. Page 1 of 1 119
