Action Requested
Approve,by motion, the hiring of Jenna Fabish as Assistant City Engineer effective May 6, 2019.
Background/Discussion
The 2019 budget includes the new position of Assistant City Engineer. We went to market to fill this
position, conducted interviews with five candidates and invited two back for second interviews.
Following background and reference checks,we recommend Jenna Fabish for this position.
Ms. Fabish has been working in the civil engineering field since 2006. Her tenure includes Assistant City
Engineer for South St Paul, Senior Project Manager for Dakota County, and most recently Engineer 3 at
Ramsey County.
Ms. Fabish holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Construction Management Minor,is a
licensed Professional Engineer, and holds certifications in Construction Site Management and Design of
Construction Stormwater Pollution Plan.
Ms. Fabish will begin at step C of pay grade 5E. She will begin accruing vacation at the rate of three
weeks per year.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
