DISCUSSION:
• The Board of Directors of the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) met on
March 26, 2019, at the offices of Shakopee Public Utilities. Both Commissioner Al
Nadeau and I were able to attend.
The Board discussed the status of the renewable projects the Agency is pursuing.
Management reported on MMPA's participation at the American Public Power
Association's annual legislative rally in Washington, DC last month.
Participation in MMPA's residential Clean Energy Choice program increased over
December, with a market penetration that is now at 3.0%, with other member
communities' participation ranging from 1.9%to 5.2%. Program participation is growing
at a 20%annual rate.
• Per the Governance Policy G.3e General Manager Performance Planning and Evaluation
and consistent with Governance Policy G.3d Monitoring Performance of the General
Manager, the Commission conducts a formal evaluation of the General Manager during
the second quarter of each fiscal year.This is scheduled to be held during the May
Commission Meeting currently scheduled for May 14. An email invitation with the link
to the 2019 performance evaluation will be sent out sometime next week.
