DISCUSSION:
• In the last month, the level two charger downtown had 4 sessions, and provided
customers with 42 kWh of green energy.The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot
had 14 sessions and provided customers with 222 kWh of green energy. The DC fast
charger at the Coborn's fuel station had 3 sessions and provided 46 kWh of green
energy to customers.
• The (Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) Energy Education Events at local
grade schools were well received this year. MMPA updated the content to focus more
on efficiency and using energy wisely. The new presentation allowed for more
interaction with the students, resulting in a better learning experience and retention of
information. The presentation was given to 4th grade students at Meadowvale, St.
Andrew's,Twin Lakes, and Otsego Elementary.
• Attended Distributed Energy Resources compliance training. This workshop was
provided by Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA.) All municipal utilities in
the state are required to update and approve the Distributed Energy Resource
Interconnection Process annually. This year there were considerable changes in the
organization of the document and timelines for each interconnection process
established.The updated documents will be prepared and brought back for commission
approval in May.
• Presented electric vehicle (EV) charging information at the Cities Charging Ahead
Conference in St. Paul.The focus of the presentation was on how cities and utilities can
become active in EV technology adoption at different levels. I presented with
representatives from the University of Minnesota, City of St. Paul, and City of
Bloomington.
• Represented ERMU as a presenter along with the Salt River Project for an American
Public Power Association (APPA) sponsored webinar.The webinar focused on how large

and small public power utilities can participate in the "EV-olution" of transportation in
the communities they serve. The Salt River Project provides electric and water services
to more than 2 million people living in central Arizona.This was a great opportunity to
showcase what smaller utilities and communities can do to support electric vehicle
initiatives.
• Provided support for the Elk River EDA in the development of a new Economic
Development Incentive Policy and Program.This new policy will allow the City to
provide an economic incentive based on the applicable payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT)
the customer would generate for up to two years.The incentive will be provided to the
qualifying customer in the form of a bill credit for the amount that would have been
provided to the City as a PILOT if the customers were not participating in the new EDA
program.
