6.4. SR 06-06-2005 Item 6.4 MEMORANDUM TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Lori johnson, Finance and Administrative Services Director DATE: june 6, 2005 SUBJECT: Consider Westbound Construction Rough Carpentry Contract Mr. Steve Chuba of Greystone Construction has completed the process of soliciting quotes for the rough carpentry contract for the Westbound project. This was originally part of bid package #10 which was rejected by the Council. This bid package originally contained many different and somewhat unrelated items which Mr. Chuba believes resulted in only one bid and caused the bid to be much higher than the budget. The bid package has now been divided into two carpentry contracts, rough and finish, and individual quotes for the other small items such as window treatments and awnings will be requested. Attached is the information from Mr. Chuba on the rough carpentry quote. He is recommending Crossroad Construction at a cost of $29,900. Action Requested The Council is asked to consider awarding the rough carpentry contract for Westbound to Crossroad Construction in the amount of $29,900. \Council\Lori\2005\ Westbound bids Rough Carpentry. doc htt~( Iwebmail. pas.earthlink.net/wamlprintable.jsp?msgid=7 4 3&x=-9828523 89 6/2/2005 Web Mail Printable Message Page 1 of 1 From: To: Subject: Date: Steve Chuba <SChuba@greystoneconstruction.com> ljohnson@ci.elk-river.mn.us Westbound Liquor - Rough Carpentry lun 2, 2005 12:00 PM From: Steve Chuba[SMTP:SCHUBA@GREYSTONECONSTRUCTION.COM] Sent: Thursday, June 02,2005 12:00:29 PM To: Ijohnson@ci.elk-river.mn.us Subject: Westbound Liquor - Rough Carpentry Auto forwarded by a Rule Lori - Please see the following bid results for the Rough Carpentry work at the Westbound Liquor project.
