SR 05-06-2019Request for Action To Item Number Mayor and City Council 8.1 Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by General Business May 6, 2019 Justin Femrite, P.E., Public Works Director Item Description Reviewed by Multi -Purpose Facility and Lion John Weicht Park Michael Hecker, Park and Recreation Director Reviewed by Improvements Calvin Portner, City Administrator Action Requested Approve, by motion, final plans and advertisement to solicit bids for the Multi -Purpose Facility Background/Discussion Since the update provided at the February 19, 2019, meeting, 292 Design Group has continued toward the final design of the Multi -Purpose Facility and improvements to Lion John Weicht Park. Our architectural team will give an overview of the final design and current project budget estimates. Upon approval of the final plans, the team will advertise the project for bids. All project schedules surround the final approval of the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) at the legislature. We are proposing to proceed through project advertisement and bidding concurrent with the consideration of the LOST. Financial Impact 292 Design and RJM will be presenting the current budget estimate for the project at the meeting. The approval of the advertisement for bid does not commit to any funding but rather allows for the solicitation of bids.
