Community Development Director Update-Sathe Executive
Search Firm
Attached for your review is a summary of the top ten candidates for the community
development director position. Greg Albrecht, Sathe Executive Search, has indicated to me
that he received 50 applications for the position and directly contacted an additional 35
candidates regarding the position. As you can tell from the attached summary, we have a
very qualified group of applicants to consider for this position.
On June 20, 2005, the City Council will need to consider calling a special meeting for June
27 in order to have Greg present to the Council his recommendation for the fmalists for the
position. Between now and then, Greg will be conducting another round of interviews in
order to narrow the field down. Also at this special meeting, Greg will be requesting Council
input on interview topics and questions and we need to discuss preferred interview dates. A
concern I have is that the July 11 worksession agenda is getting filled up and there may not
be sufficient time to conduct the interviews and also do regular worksession business. An
alternative interview date may be Tuesday, July 12,2005.
