A special meeti~of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by
Mayor Bartelt on Jan. 11, 1971, at 7:30 pm. in the Village Council hoom.
Members present were Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen, Konop, Otto, and Syring
The CGuncil conducted . an interview with a Chief of Police Applicant Robert
Olsen. Councilman Syring moved ana Councilman Konop seconded that the Council
hire Robert Olson as Chief of Police at a salary of $700/mo., probationary
period of 6 months, $100 first year clothing allowance, 50/yr. thereafter.

Councilman Konop moved and Councilma n~yring seconded that the village enter
into a contract with the County regarding a W0rk Relief Program. Motion
Carried.
