Request, by action the Parks and Recreation Commission update the Rivers Edge Commons Park Master
Plan reflect the new dock location on city property adjacent to the park
Background/Discussion
The Parks and Recreation Commission reached consensus at the May 8 meeting to encourage the
community create a dock for downtown that is accessible to all.
A new location has been identified differing from the Rivers Edge Commons Park Master Plan. In order
to support the Commission’s desire for the new dock location, staff is recommending an update to the
park’s master plan. This should also assist the volunteers interested to fundraise for the dock.
Financial Impact
Design, construction and site preparation as well as ongoing maintenance inspection and placement need
to still be considered.
