Friends volunteer summary April-June 2019
1.Friends volunteer events conducted every last Monday of the month (Apr 29,May 28th)
a.Activities conducted during volunteer events
i.Trash removal, emphasis on firebreaks, north areas close to parking lot
ii.Removal of old barbed wire
iii.Invasive species removal (mostly garlic mustard)
iv.Installation of bird houses, bluebird and wood duck
v.Monitoring WHHCA for flood related activity, including patrolling wetland
areas for carp activity
2.Friends of Mississippi annual event (May 15th 2019)
i.Trash removal, emphasis on firebreaks, north areas close to parking lot
ii.Removal of old barbed wire
iii.Invasive species removal (mostly garlic mustard)
