09-28-1971 VCM Special A special meeting of the Elk River Village Council, was called to order by Mayor Bartelt on Sept. 28, 1971,. a1;. 8:00 pm, in the Council Room of the tillage Office Building. Members tr esent were Mayor Bartelt and Councilmen Hudson, Syring and Konop. (.\ l 1 .~. Mayor 'Bartelt declared the taking of bids for the construction of the fire station be closed. Peter Racchini will tabulate the bids, submit a report and make his recommendations at our next regular meeting. Dan Greene am Al Froehlich, local insurance agents, presented a schedule shorling present village insurance policy coverages, which will be the minimum coverages when presented for a package bid. The proposals will be handed out to the other local qu~lified insurance agents. ( , ,) Chief of Police olson reported on the complaint lodged by several boys against Ken Van Patten. Olson reported he could see no basis to their s~or.1, after contacting the parties that were supposively involved. Olson reported that Van Patten has been quite strict on these boys and he believes it was retlliation move by them. Diseussion followed on $40.00 in long distance phone calls to the Kjellberg Trailer Park at Monticello, being charged to the Police phone. Olson is still investigating and will report to the Council on his findings at a, subsequent meeting. ~ Olson reported that Joseph Zerwas and Martin Koskela have both declined the police officers position. Olson will pre-interview Robert G. Jacobs for this position and if he is interested, will call him:: in for a personal interview at our next regular meeting.
