A Special meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Acting
Mayor Hudson on Dec. 7, 1971 at 5:00 pm in the Council Room of the Village Office
Building. Ivlembers were present as follows: Councilman Hudson, Syring, Konop and
Otto. Village Engineer "!tIm. Nills in attendance.
~tr. Y~lls reported the following correctiont reversing the Sanitary Sewer and
Watermain Assessments for the Alvin Baumgartner and 1eo Granlund properties.
Deleting from the School Street Assessment Roll the Storm Sewer Assessment and the
Engineers fee charged to this assessment.
~x. Mills also reported on the Sanitary Sewer and Watermtn Improvements along the
Tobiassen property 245 feet, of the 395 feet propsed for assessment is low landand
not buildable because of a water problem. Iv~. Y~lls advised the Council that the
$3,000.00 105$ can be reassessed to the entire project or absorbed by the Village.
Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Co~~cilma.n Konop that the $3,000.00 loss
due to the Tobiassen unassessable low land be absorbed as follows: $2,000.00 by the
Village and per aggreement with Iv~. ~ulls $1,000.00 will be deducted from the Engineers
Fee. Motion unaminously carried.
~tr. Mills presented the revised Assessment Rolls for the lS71 School Street Improvement
and the .1971 Sanitarv.Sewer and Water~~n Improvements~ for the Granlund, Baw~gartner
ana TOb~ass~n propert,~es. -
Moved by Co~~cilman Otto and seconded by CouncilITan Syring to adopt the revised
Assessment Roll for the 1971 Street Improvement on School Street as calculated by the
Village Engineer and to certify them to the Co~~ty Auditor for collection through
the annual taxes over a 10 year term, the interest on the unpaid balance to be 7%
to start acru~ne Dec. 7, 1971. Motion unaminously carried.
Moved by COQ~cilman Konop and seconded by CouncilITan Otto to adopt the revised
Assessment Rod,l for the 1971 Sanitary Sewer and Hater~n Improvements for the
Granlund, Baum.gartner and Tobiassin properties as calculated by the Village Engineer
and to certify tijem to the County Auditor for collection through the annual taxes . .
