The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order
by Mayor Bartelt, on February 7, 1972 at 7:30 pm. in the Council Room of the Village
Office Building. Member were present as follows: Mayor Bartelt and Councilman Syring,
Hudson, Otto and Konop. Village Attorney John MacGibbon in attendance.
The minutes of the January 17, 1972 regular meeting were read. There were no addition
or correction and the minutes were approved as read.
Building Inspector Rex Oetinger meet with the council and recommended some changes be
made in the building code pertaining to mobile homes. The Council requested that Rex
obtain extra copies of the State Building Code for the Councils review and to make his
recommendations prior to the Councils adoption of the new Building Code.
Mr. Mills Village Engineer presented his progress report on his projected seweage system
survey. It was agreeable with the council that ~~. Mills continue his survey of the
Northern Trunk Line with the twin disposal plant system opposed to the Southern Trunk Line.
Noved by Councilman Otto and seconded by Councilman Syring that a dance permit for Feb.
14, 1972 be issued to the ragles Club for a one time only and that the fee be waivered.
Motion unaminously carried.
Cliff Lundberger meet with the Council and voiced some of his views on the possibility of
a new Library Building or a Village Complex he also informed the Council of various
Youth and Civic Meeting dates that he was involved with and extended an invitation to
the council member to attend.
Moved by Councilman otto and seconded by Councilrr~n Syring to adopt the Library resolution
transferring the tangible personal property of the Village Library to the Great River
Regional Library. Motion unaminously carried. A copy of the resolution is attached.
Moved by Councilman Konop and seconded by CounciL~an Syring to approve the carpeting bid
from Adams Furniture Co. in the amount of $1,441.17 for the new fire station.
Motion unaminously carried.
~. The Council instructed Chief of Police Bob Olson that he would have to restrict his out
side the Village limits police protection to those calls that are absolutely necessary.
He was further advised that if he wishes to continue his part-time job as school bus
driver he would have to have the approval of the Council because the part-time job hours
interfer with the police department coverage hours. A request for Council approval will
be required at the February 21, 1972 meeting.

employees wage ~ehedule retractive 1-1-72 as follow:

Full-time Bartenders 3.50/hour
Part-time Bartenders 3.25/hour
Full-time Off Sale Clerks & Waitress 2.40/hour
Part-time Off Sale Clerks & Haitress2.35/hour
Clerical-Clerk 2.60/hour
Street & Plant Superintendent ~50/month
Street & Sewer Disposal employees 3.50/hour
DumpIT~n 3. 25/hour
Chief Of Police 775/month
Patrolman 675/month
Clerk-Treasurer 625/month
The Clerk-Treasurers salary will be reviewed. again at the May 15, 1972 regular meeting.
