Recognition of Employee Achievement—Troy Adams, APPA Board Appointment

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On Tuesday,June 11, at the American Public Power Association's Annual Business Meeting during their
national conference,the membership voted to elect nominees for vacant seats on their board of
directors. Having received numerous letters of support for Troy Adams' nomination, the
association's nominating committee recommended to membership that Mr. Adams be
appointed to the vacant seat in Region 3. This region represents Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota,
Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota,and South Dakota.The membership unanimously voted in support of
the nominating committee's recommendation, officially electing Troy Adams to the American Public
Power Association's Board of Directors.
Similar to the role the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association plays for ERMU here in Minnesota,the
American Public Power Association provides critical advocacy for municipal electric utilities at the
federal level.Additionally,they provide exceptional training opportunities and other services. And
through their advocacy and services,they have been an important part of Elk River Municipal Utilities'
success.
