05-03-1973 CC MIN - SPECIAL SPECIAL l'-lEETING ELK RIVER VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE VILLAGE OFFICE BUILDING May 3, 1973 at 7:00 PM. A special meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor Bartelt on May 3, 1973 at 7:00 PM. in the Council Chambers of the Village Office Building. Members present were Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Lundberg, Hudson, Syring and otto. Ernie Thielke, Liquor Store ~~nager was in attendance. The Liquor Committee will look into the cost figures for possible new Off-Sale out on highway #169. Moved by Councilman Lundberg and seconded by Councilman Otto authorizing the purchases of a new Color TV set for the On-Sale. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. Interviews were held for the position of patrolman with the following persons, Richard Darr, Jerome Wilson, Mark Rieschl and Mark Tarmann. Moved by Councilman otto and seconded by Councilman Syring to hirer Richard Darr for the position of patrolman, Hotion unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman otto setting the total starting salary for the new patrolman at $700.00 per month. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson authorizing the expenditure of $200.00 from the Library fund to take up a 60 day Option Contract with Robert Dare for property proposed for the new Library Building site. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. Councilman Lundberg reviewed the progress of the County dispatching program. Which would cost the Village $400.00 per month for our share of the dispatching. John MacGibbon will draw up a contra.ct for this service. The Council reviewed with Chief Olson the police departments pay proposal. No futhur business, the meeting adjourned. (lq)
