Background/Discussion
During the June 17, 2019, public hearing, this item was opened and continued to the July 15, 2019,
meeting to allow staff the time to review what impacts the proposed amendments may have on additional
ordinance sections.
The reference to institutional uses affects 17 sections of the ordinance with many of them being
residential uses. During the 2018 comprehensive ordinance amendment for all commercial and industrial
zoning districts (OA 18-03), residential districts were not included as these districts were to be looked at
later.
Staff would like to include the residential district amendments along with the references to institutional
uses concurrently to save on publication costs. Staff will have the Planning Commission review and act
on the residential amendments on July 23, 2019, and then the City Council will review it all on August 19,
2019.
