The Library Board serves in an advisory capacity to City of Elk River for issues related to the Elk River Public Library grounds, the physical building
and interior fixtures. The city is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all work to be completed.

Put in fill over the roof drainage
trench in the back of the building.
The fill washes away every time it
rains so Commissioner Stoffers
suggested finding a permanent
solution.
Zone 5 Rita Rain garden, interior and exterior building maintenance, interior Re-seal windows on back of
furniture and shelving building by teen area. Rain
garden ditch burning or weeding.

1. LED Lighting in parking lot –Cal Portner informed Board in March- Lights have arrived, they will be installed in
shifts according to electrician availability
PRIORITY CIP ITEMS
1. Chair Keifenheim and Robbie selected the new upholstery, and it has been ordered. Probably pushed off until
th
August for installation due to summer reading program starting June 10.
2. New armless computer chairs in the Computer Area ($2280-2500 Schake has included in 2019 budget-will examine
after Caterpillar)
3. Reupholster cushions in the window seat in Teen area (these will be cleaned per recommendation of Upholstery
company)
CIP ITEMS IDENTIFIED BUT NOT RANKED FOR PRIORITY
1. More comfortable chairs or comfortable flooring in the Children’s area cave-possibly move existing chairs
into cave
2. Cork floors replaced in the Teen area
3. New rug in Fiction lounge-clean and/or replace
4. New shelving units (or check for warranty) in Teen area
5. Diamond plated sheets (or something like that) installed on numerous walls in the Staff Area to protect the
walls from cart damage (4/4/18: Reported to Gary Lore, Building Maintenance Super in case he wants to fix to
prevent drywall damage. Not a high priority to the Board because it is out of public view.)
