Request
Jennifer Mueller, representing Anytime Fitness, is requesting approval for a one-day health
and fitness fair to be held August 27,2005. The fitness fair will include a tent.

Analysis
Ms. Mueller is proposing an annual health and fitness fair. They will be utilizing a 20' x 40'
tent which will cover a variety of tables and booths sponsored by a number of businesses
noted in her narrative. She is proposing to barricade one entry into the parking lot in order
to provide increased safety for pedestrians. There is adequate parking on the site and a
secondary entrance for vehicular access.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the general planning permit for the one-day
health and fitness fair on August 27th.

Anytime Fitness located at 18130 Zane Street NW, Elk
River Minnesota would like to host a fair on August 27,
2005 in the rear parking lot of the site. We want to provide
information, free samples, knowledge and trained staff
available open to the public to inspire health and wellness
in the community. The following businesses would like to
volunteer in the fair as well.

Bod Squad Personal Trainers
Elk River Park and Recreation Department

work with them on sponsorship.)

Hi Barbara,
The fair is set for August 27th. We will have the area cleaned that
same day. We will have a rented tent with health and fitness
personnel available for Q & A's open to the public_ We will have
the area roped off and will not hamper any other business in the
area. I have obtained a permit from City Hall and I am also on
agenda for the City Council meeting on June 20th. We are
planning on working with the ER Police as well. If you have any
further questions please don't hesitate to notify me. Please email
me back with your permission as soon as possible. Thank you!
