1. Presentation of funds raised by the Liquor Operation for the Fire Department.
2. Accept,by resolution, all cash and silent auction donations.
Background/Discussion
Coors approached the Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association regarding a hyper-localized Fire
Department fundraiser.
Staff decided this would be good recognition and an opportunity to support our Fire Department. We
asked customers if they wanted to make a monetary donation at time of purchase, physical items were
donated for a silent auction, and the Liquor Operation pledged a dollar per case sold of Coors during the
promotional period (8/1/19- 9/11/19).
An event was held at Northbound Liquor on Friday, September 6, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.,which included a
ladder truck,Thailon food truck, and silent auction items. Overall, $5,520 was raised for the Elk River
Fire Department to be used towards the purchase of thermal imaging and detoxifying equipment for their
gear.
